Building on her reputation as a public speaker, and drawing on her earlier experience as an art and film historian, Meredith Garlick is presenting a number of public lectures in 2007.

February-March 2007

Meredith presents a series of lectures at QUT Art Museum looking at Australian landscape in film.  Screenings of Japanese Story, Walkabout, and Picnic at Hanging Rock will follow each lecture. Click on images for further reading about the films.

Love's Temple

April 2007
 
Addressing the Solomos Society, Meredith discusses the life and works of local Brisbane artist, Michael Zavros, whose work has been selected three times for the pretigious Archibald Prize.  To see a selection of Michael's paintings, drawings and sculptures, click on the image of his latest work Love's Temple.

Meredith presents a series of lectures on fashion and film at the Creative Industries Precinct, Queensland University of Technology.  Program to come.
 
 
2005-2006
 
Since relocating to Brisbane, Meredith has been a regular speaker and panellist at the Brisbane Writers Festival, conducting sessions with travel writers Christopher Kremmer and Palani Mohan; interviewing children's writers Anita Bell, Michael Gerard Bauer, and James Moloney; discussing themes of location and setting with Canadian crime writer Giles Blunt and UK humorist Stephen Clarke; and presenting film and television panels with George Ogilvie, John Flanagan (Hey Dad!) and Mardi McConnochie (McLeod's Daughters).
